At the London School of Economics-hosted symposium, participants will discuss a range of issues as they relate to the "new authoritarian" states including the acquis of EU media policy, challenges to media freedom, and whether current mechanisms being employed with regard to media policy represent a repressive new trend or continuation of existing ideology.
The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic will give the keynote address.
