Dunja Mijatović, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, stressed the importance of journalists’ safety in her report on her Office’s work to the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on 24 November 2011.
“The mission to end violence against journalists is ongoing; one that will take the time, the resources and the willpower of all of us, including governments, prominent members of civil society and journalists themselves, to be successful,” Mijatović said.
Mijatović also outlined her Office’s efforts to foster media pluralism and keep the Internet free from unnecessary government regulations.
